With the growing complexity of the business, the role of the economist is not only required as a public policymaker but also as part of the business decision-making process based upon knowledge and skills in economics.

Therefore, the University of Prasetiya Mulya presents a Business Economics course designed to answer the needs of companies of experts who can apply economic theory into business practices and take advantage of opportunities in the future.

Why Study S1 Business Economics Universitas Prasetiya Mulya

The growing need for analysts and corporate economists, both at home and abroad, has resulted in much-sought business graduates. In the course of Business Economics, students will acquire comprehensive knowledge of economics and can directly apply it to assist the business decision-making process.

In the S1 Business Economics program, students will learn how to apply Economic theories to solve business problems. Also, they will learn how to analyze and forecast the world’s economic situation and economic issues that can influence or impact strategic business decisions. In order to better prepare graduates for the global working environment, the program will use English as the language of instruction throughout the program. Students are also equipped with soft skills and hard skill certifications.

Curriculum

COLLABORATION
The collaboration among programs consists of internal projects, joint researches. Besides that, there are collaboration consists of commercial projects, private research, co-teaching, field study, guest lecture, internship, and company visit.

EXTERNAL COOPERATION
There is a study abroad program with foreign universities. The prospective partners for the study aboard program are Tsing Hua University, UNSW, Zhejiang University, Boston University, NUS, RMIT, Monash University, KAIST, Peking University, Eramus, Columbia College, University of South Alabama, Solbridge International School of Business, Georgia Tech, etc.

Graduate of this Program

Graduates of Business Economics courses are prepared to be both business analysts and economists at large companies both at home and abroad. In addition, graduates can work as consultants, researchers, entrepreneurs, professionals in governmental and non-governmental organizations.

OBJECTIVE OUTCOME
Providing graduates with an ability to synthesize economics and business concepts with strong quantitative skills that can be applied in modern businesses.

CORE KNOWLEDGE: economics and business knowledge
Apart from the core knowledge, the graduates will also be provided with neighboring disciplines that enable them to use a heterodox approach in applying economics concepts for businesses such as energy engineering, environmental science, food technology, digital technology, and psychology. These disciplines will also give the graduates a broader perspective in economics and business.

The Business Economics Student Association (BEST Association) is a student organization formed by the S1 Business Economics student of Universitas Prasetiya Mulya. It is a platform for the students majoring in Business Economics to gather and discuss different perspectives towards various economic and non-economics activities. It aims to raise awareness surrounding the major and the economics world itself.

Fridate is a semi formal talkshow intended to broaden students’ knowledge regarding business analyst and other major graduate jobs demanded. This afternoon chat is solely organized by the Business Economics students hence the creativity in the choice of games. Make sure you’ve at least come to Fridate! once throughout your Prasmul journey.

Indonesians are taught to have a caring character to the people around them. According to the quote “Tak kenal maka tak sayang”, the first batch of Business Economics students held a bonding program where we all go to Puncak and had the best time ever! We went to night safaris, midnight workouts, barbeques, early morning swims, and of course continuous eating! If you’re going to be a part of the family, make sure you join the bonding program!

This is our first company visit ever where we came to Nielsen Company. Nielsen is a leading global information and measurement company, provides market research insights and datas about people’s activities. It was such a very pleasant experience learning on the tips and tricks of how to retrieve the most accurate information from our sources!
